The DaVinci Code Debacle

So...the Christian fundamentalists are attacking The DaVinci Code because it's making people question their religion.

Funny...

You'd think they'd be more concerned that a book and a movie can make people question their faith! I mean, think about it... Obviously if a work of fiction like this can cause you to question your religion, then your faith had to have been pretty shaky to begin with.

Of course, no on in this society likes to find the real root of the problem, we just like to attack symptoms and fake causes so that we feel better. To fight the true problem, we'd have to, like, think and do research and hard stuff like that.

Screw that! Burn the heathens who wrote the book instead! WOOO!

    HERE HERE !!!
I think it is the responce to other movies that is causing the stir.
Think about Broke Back Code, wouldnt that just be interesting. Drink from the Holy Grail and become gay. That would debunk the theory that Jesus was a father now wouldnt it.
Isnt it the job of "the heathens" to spur our intelect though and make us think about certain things that we might have had thoughs about anyhow?
Oh wait I just re-read that I think I was trying to start something that wasnt there.

    ...and shit. :)

Actually, the point I was attempting to make is how pathetic it is that those "with a cause" like religion, gun rights , civil rights, etc. always seem to pick the dumbest battles to fight while ignoring the larger issue at hand.

Comments like Pat Robertson made about the DaVinci Code, comments like Danny Glover made about the black girl losing on American Idol...

It generally goes to show that not only are most people oblivious to the big picture, but a lot of those that we tend to look to for advice or commentary are either fundamentally stupid or acting as snowmen to hide the bigger issue from us.
